TRAINING CHANGES FOR THE UPCOMING WEEK

Saturday 11th September

6.00am - Cycle - La Balsa Park

2.00pm - Swim - Kawana Pool

Sunday 12th September

NO Training due to Triathlon Pink / Mooloolaba Half Marathon

 

On Sunday 15th August we had 20 SCTA athletes compete at the Capricorn Half Ironman which doubled as the Qld Long Course Champs. All athletes were greeted with perfect conditions with the swim doubling as a lake. Perfect Glassy conditions. In saying that the swim times were slow compared to previous years. There was a slight breeze on the bike course that started to get up towards the end of the 5 lap bike course. As usual the road is still rough as and this was evident by quite a few punctures during the event. By the time the athletes got out onto the run course the day was warming up nicely.

Carrie Lester continued her dominate display in the Half Ironman distance taking out the race win and finishing 11th overall. Jackie Prentice had a great day out as well finishing 6th female outright and fastest female Age Grouper. Well done to that competed and a special mention to the SCTA Female squad that competed as well. For most of them this was their first half and did a great job in finishing. Peter Brown did a great job with a 4th place in his category.

Next race  World Championships Budapest 8th-12th September, Triathlon Pink 12th September.
