A very busy weekend at the Mooloolaba Triathlon Festival that had a bit of everything for the Sunshine Coast Triathlon Academy / Protector Aluminium Athletes that were in action over the weekend in the Hot Laps Run on Friday Night, Superkidz and ITU World Cup Triathlon on Saturday and Sunday with the Australian OD Champs and Sprint distance events.

There were some great results across the board which in turned gave the SCTA 2nd place in the TriClub Podium. A great result considering Red Dog Triathlon had nearly 4 times the competitors that we had raced. Awesome work Team SCTA

The Triathlon saw lots going on with whether there was going to be a swim leg based on the conditions that were forecasted. I know in hindsight looking at the conditions on Sunday that they could of ran the full swim, but when your faced with scenarios and going off what the prediction was, if the conditions came in, then it would of been nasty. The Mooloolaba Triathlon Organisers acted in the safety of all the competitors concerned and the right decision was made in the end. I know there were lots of disappointed athletes, but safety will always be paramount.

The Australian Champs over the Olympic Distance saw Paul Marchant execute a great race to be crowned National 25-29 Champion. Brett Stalley took a silver (55-59) along with SCTA Club Member Nicholas Hull (30-34). Ron Craig had a solid race to finish 3rd on the podium in Clydesdale 90-99kgs. Michael Hooper missed the podium with 6th 25-29. We had 11 athletes in the OD finish in the top 20 in their respective categories. In the Teams Janelle McCosker (Swim) set her team up on the way to being the fastest Female Team overall and winner of the Masters Female Team (they will race OPEN next year missed out of some $$)

Sprint Distance Draft Legal saw 4 podiums with Chloe Glover 1st (30-34), Martin Anderson 2nd (45-49), Michael Glover 3rd (30-34), Ben Cook 3rd (35-39) while Jorja Matthews (16-19) just missed the podium in 4th. In the Non Draft Sprint Distance SCTA Club Member Paul Fleming won (55-59)

On Friday Night in the Mooloolaba Hot Laps Run, where athletes ran as far as they could in 30 mins around a 600m circuit. Mia Wooldridge had a great run to take out the U/16 and 2nd Female Overall pocketing some prizemoney, while Heidi Craig had a solid run to finish 4th (U/16)

at the Superkidz Triathlon the juniors did a Run Cycle Run due to the quality of the water in the canal. Both Sam McClarron and Billie Elsum had great performances. As this is a participation event no times or places are recorded.

Well done to all that raced. Full results below

I need to update my posts and luckily there are news that I can find in this post. A post that will give a lot of insights that I need for me to have my own realizations and observations for the upcoming game. I will not judge but I would like to ask the opinions of people that are in the game. A game that will be a new mark of legacy in my life. I will keep on reading until I find the answer to my questions. A great way to start my dream job.
