A Massive month of racing for the Sunshine Coast Triathlon Academy / Studio Steel Athletes and Club Members in Action at World Multisport Triathlon Champs in Slovakia, World Triathlon Champs in Montreal, Australian Cross Country Champs, Bridge to Brisbane, Townsville Triathlon, Yeppoon Triathlon Festival, Australian Schools Triathlon / Aquathlon Champs, Sunshine Coast 70.3 and Australian Cycling Champs.
The results over the past month have been amazing with World Champs Silver Medal + 4th Place. Australian Championships Events saw 11 x National Champs / 2 x Silver / 3 x Bronze Medalists and a host of PB's at Sunshine Coast 70.3 and various other events. Some amazing results from the past few weeks for the Sunshine Coast Triathlon Academy / Studio Steel Athletes and Club Members with Sunshine Coast Run Festival, Queensland Duathlon Champs, QA Cross Country Champs and Pomona King of the Mountain.
On home turf for the Sunshine Coast Marathon and Community Runs with the Half Marathon doubling as the Australian Championship we saw podiums to Elke Madlener 2nd (14-17 and PB) and Gary Binet 3rd (50-54). 8th Places to Emma Doyle (21-24) and Adam Fitzakerley (40-44). Both Richie Leech (30-34) and Keith Campbell (35-39) both 11th Place and PB's for the Half. SCTA Club Member Paul Marchant 9th (25-29). 10km saw Age Wins to Emma Mcinnes (U/20) and Steve Miller (60-69) both with PB's too. In the 5km doubling as Queensland Championships saw Addison Houslip (U/14) take the category win and Female Race Winner just missing the race record. Sophie Burger 3rd (U/18) and Wade Wallis 5th (U/14). While in the 2km SCTA Club Member Billie Elsum 5th (8-11) At the recent Queensland Duathlon Championships we saw State Tittles to Addison Houslip (12-13) and Kim Alexander (50-54). Jacob Rope took the win in Mini Mates. on the same day the QA Cross Country Champs were on the same day where Grace Brimelow took the win (16 Years MC). Pomona was the stage for the Prince of the Mountain for 13 Years and Under and the Prelude to the King of the Mountain. Wade Wallis secured the Race Title and Race Record in his last year in this category while twin brother Marc was 5th. Well done to all that raced. A busy weekend of racing for the Sunshine Coast Triathlon Academy / Protector Aluminium Athletes and Club Members in action at QTS # 2 Raby Bay Triathlon, Sunshine Coast Marathon Festival and City Island Triathlon
A very warm and humid morning greeted the athletes for QTS # 2 at Raby Bay. Leading the charge in the Long Course was Jordan Gover 1st (50-54) and right on his heels was Kim Alexander 2nd (50-54). Just off the podium with 5th Places was Emily Donker (OPEN) and Rebecca Howell (25-29). Sophie Burger 9th (OPEN Female had a strong race. SCTA Club Member and 2016 Rio Olympian Ryan Fisher showed great form ahead of Noosa Tri taking out the race win. In the Short Course Rachel James continued her progression back to fitness with a 3rd (35-39) while just missing the podium with 4th Places was Millan Power (13 Years) and Ben Cook (35-39). You couldn't wipe the smile off Jayden James face with a category win (U/16 Enticer). On home turf for the rescheduled Sunshine Coast Marathon Festival also held in very warm conditions we saw SCTA Athletes / Club Members in all distances. In the Half Marathon we saw some strong running from Ruby Rose Weepers (U/18) and Saul Nicol-Rann (U/16) both take out category wins. SCTA Club Member Paul Marchant 5th (20-29) ran strongly in a hotly contested field. In the 10km SCTA Club Members Ryan Marsh 2nd (U/20) and Simon Hearn 6th (20-29). 5km saw some great results with Eva Nicol-Rann 1st (U/14) while SCTA Club Members Grace Brimelow 2nd (U/16) and Jude Brimelow 5th (U/14). While Chloe Turner 1st (16+) 2km Over in America for the City Island Triathlon Nikki Smythe 2nd (45-49) and 9th Female Overall Well done to all that Raced.
