A busy 2 weekends of racing for the Sunshine Coast Triathlon Academy / Protector Aluminium Athletes and Club Members in action over the past 2 weekends with QTS # 2 at Raby Bay, Triathlon Pink Sunshine Coast, TA Sprint Weekend and Queensland Schools Athletics Champs.
At Raby Bay for Round # 2 of the QTS were saw some great results for the crew and several distances. Leading the way in the Long Course was Rebecca Howell 3rd (25-29) with a strong swim cycle combo that set up her podium performance going one place better than round # 1. Steve Miller 3rd (60-64) and Ingi Doyle 6th (50-54) while SCTA Club Member Paul Marchant 6th (OPEN) stepping up from Age Group Racing.
In the Super Sprint Margo Mackintosh 1st (35-39) had a great day with the fastest Female and 12th place overall. the hard work being done in the swim sessions is paying off. Another experience learning curve from the rest of the SCTA juniors in the super sprint will hold them in good steed for this weekends Qld All Schools. Sophie Burger 2nd (14-15) 3rd Female Overall, both in 6th place was Ella Crawford (14-15) and Torah Rose (16-19) while Jorja Matthews 8th (16-19). Ben Cook 5th (35-39) showing the consistency in training is being converted to the racing.
SCTA Club Members, Ethan Close (14-15) had a great race to take out the Overall Win while Twin Brother Callum was 3rd.
In the Enticer Sam McClarron 25th (U/14) while in the Kool Kids, Billie Elsum led the charge with 4th (7-9), Mia Foreman 15th (7-9), Bella McClarron 26th (10-11) and Ava Foreman 28th (10-11)
At the Queensland Schools Athletics Championships in Brisbane, SCTA Club Member Peyton Craig had some great runs in taking out the U/16 Boys Title in the 3000 / 1500 / 800
Triathlon Pink Sunshine Coast saw the Little Juniors come out to play with some great results. For both Tabitha Fraser 1st (10-13) and Bella McClarron 5th (10-13) it was their first ever Triathlon. Nice work girls. Billie Elsum 2nd (7-9) and Isobel Martin 3rd (7-9). Billie backed up in the 3km Run to take out the female win and 4th overall.
At the Triathlon Australia Sprint Weekend down at Runaway Bay, saw athletes compete over a swim, cycle, run individual TT to gain an overall that seeded them in the "Cup Final" (top 16) or the "Plate Final" (the rest). SCTA Club Members in Action down there saw in the Female Cup Final - Kelly-Ann Perkins 5th, Georgie Fredricks 10th and Brittany Dutton 11th, while in the Plate Final Ryan Marsh was 7th.
