Another weekend of racing for Sunshine Coast Triathlon Academy / Protector Aluminium Athletes in action at Hamilton Island Triathlon and Whitehaven Beach Ocean Swim and at Challenge Shepparton.
The annual Hamilton Island Triathlon was held under perfect conditions. For all that have been to Hamo before, it is a very tough course with lots of hills and a ride on the airport runway. Kate Gazard (4th 30-39) 8th female overall and Michaella Trigg (3rd 40-49) 13th Female overall decided a few weeks ago to enter and kick-start them back into training and to doing some racing again. Both had a ball up there with Mac on the podium and Kate 1 place off.
The next day out the lovely Whitehaven beach for the 2km open water swim. Both the girls were joined by Tim Jarrold. Kate 8th 30-39 Years Female, Tim 9th 30-39 Years Male and Michaella 14th 40-49.
While down in Victoria, Nicholas Hull lined up at Challenge Shepparton. His first race back since Rainbow Beach Triathlon where he had a stress reaction on his foot. The swim and cycle went well, but the lack of running took its toll. Still a great result finishing 13th Professional amongst a very strong field that was won by Dan Wilson.
