Over the last 2 weekends the Sunshine Coast Triathlon Academy / Protector Aluminium Athletes and Club Members have been in action at various races including the Queensland Schools Triathlon Championships at Hervey Bay, Bribie Triathlon Race # 3, World Swim Series Noosa Swim and Dalby Triathlon.
Queensland Schools Triathlon has always held a strong tradition with SCTA Athletes and Coach Toby Coote. This was the 18th year at these championships, for 17 straight years Toby has had at least one athlete selected into the Qld Team and this year the tradition continued when Sophie Burger qualified for the Qld Team. In Total we had 5 Qualify in the Triathlon and 2 in the Aquathlon. Making the overall total for 18 years with 65 selected
There were some great races across the board, and a few of the athletes were racing at these championships for the first time and did a great job and learnt from the experience at racing at these championships. As mentioned above Sophie Burger 5th (Intermediate Female) qualified as to Addison Houslip 2nd (Primary Aquathlon Female) Torah Rose, Jorja Matthews, Ella Crawford, Saul Nicol Rann, Sam McClarron, Jake Hammond, Tabitha Fraser, Wade Wallis and Zak Hammond will all take a lot out of this racing that will be used in the future
