A big weekend of racing for the SCTA / HCAUS athletes not only in Australia but also around the World.
Firstly the South East Asian Games in Singapore over the Olympic distance draft legal saw 2 athletes from each country. From the Philippines we had Claire Adorna and Jonard Saim. In very hot and humid conditions the elements were going to test them all. Claire led from start to finish to claim race winner and SE Asian Champion at the same time winning by over a minute. Jonard raced valiantly to the end but dropping his gels on the bike didn't help him towards the end of the race finishing in 6th position.
In Subic Bay 5150, Mark Hosana from the Philippines lined up and in very hot and humid conditions came away with 8th overall and 3rd Filipino Elite.
Cairns Coral Coast was on as well with Rachel James (PNG) lining up in the sprint division. Weather wasn't kind with a howling wind which forced organisers to turn it into a duathlon as they had trouble anchoring the swim buoys in the water. Rachel is forever improving with each race which saw her finish 6th female overall and 2nd 25-34 years.
While Dan Collins continued his great running form lining up in the Queensland Half Marathon in Brisbane which saw him 4th overall and winning 40-49years in a time of 1:18:34.
Well done SCTA Team. Next race is the Cairns Ironman and 70.3 this weekend
