The first round of the Queensland Triathlon Series brought to you by The Event Crew was held at Robina on 27th September.

Sunshine Coast Triathlon Academy / Hybrid Concepts Australia Athletes were in action across all 4 distances with a new long course format and cycle course change to mix it up for the first race of the series.

Under perfect conditions for racing we saw some fast swimming with a wetsuit swim, and very fast ride for the flat and slightly technical new bike course and the normal flat run. It was great to see everyone back out racing for the series and for me joining with my partner in crime Noel Phillips on the microphone for commentary. Always fun times

The "Big Dog" finally got on the podium in the 90-99kg division and took out a very convincing win. Well done Kevin Hammond - the hard work and consistency is paying off. Jess Corliss is finding her way back with a win in the 16-19 years. Jemma Hynes was on the podium in the Kool Kids with a  2nd as to Josh Nixon Melly Charlton found herself on the podium once again for 3rd 30-34 years.
