A massive weekend of racing for Sunshine Coast Triathlon Academy / Protector Aluminium Athletes that were in a action at Western Australian Ironman, Kingscliff Triathlon, Australian Schools Athletics Championhsips and Queensland Athletics Champs.
In adelaide for the Australian Schools Athletics Champs, Peyton Craig ran the perfect race in the 1500m to take out the Australian Title and just miss out on an Australian record by 1 sec. He backed up in the 800m
Over in the West for the Annual Busso Ironman, a friendly shark decided he wanted to see more of the action that resulted in the swim leg being cancelled. Back up plan was a rolling start from the swim exit or the Cycle and Run component of the race. Race day the temperature was topping 34 degrees, which made for some hot and furious racing. Also late in the cycle leg a bush fire was approaching the top of the bike course as well. So very interesting day of events.
Amy Wisby had great day out with 2nd (25-29), While Mitch Baker 6th (25-29) and Tahlia Paskin 8th (25-29) all found well to make top 10 in their respective categories. Lindsay Keating in her first Ironman was 15th (35-39). Mick Woodcock 57th (45-49) and Dean Saunders 85th (40-44) both completed their 10th Ironman. The ever consistent Tara Partridge (40-44) rounded out the SCTA contingent.
