Another huge weekend of racing for Sunshine Coast Tri Academy / Hybrid Concepts Australia Athletes with Noosa Multisport Festival and World Xterra Championships in Maui.
Firstly to Noosa where we started off with the Run Swim Run on the Wednesday then the 1000m Swim on the Friday, then rolled into the Superkids Tri on the Saturday and then the big one on Sunday for the 33rd Noosa Triathlon and first time at Main Beach for the swim. Was perfect conditions for racing and we saw some fast times.
Our Podium placegetter in 3rd was Kev Hammond (Clydesdale 90-99kg). Just missing the podiyum in 4th was Malin Olsson (35-39), Open Mixed Team SCTA Juniors (Savannah / Taj / Jake) in 4th, Maureen Cummings 5th (50-54) and in 7th Melissa Charlton (30-34). It was great to see Bonnie Atherton back racing with an 8th (Open). Well done to all that raced over the Noosa weekend.
Onto Maui where Brodie Gardner lined up in the World Xterra Champs in the Professional category. Always hard going to a World Champs but also on a course for the first where it was highly technical and muddy on the bike course. Brodie did the best he could and came away 22nd Professional and 3rd Aussie. He will be better for the experience and looking forward to going back again next year.
