Race Updates
A few weeks of racing for the Sunshine Coast Triathlon Academy / Protector Aluminum Athletes and Club Members that were in Action at QTS # 3 Robina Tri, Hervey Bay 100, Cozumel Ironman, Barge to Beach Swim, Coolongatta Gold and South Australia Trail Running Champs.
At Robina for QTS # 3 saw overcast conditions with some light drizzle at times which kept the course cooler. In Standard Distance Ethan Close 2nd (OPEN) lined up in his 3rd Standard Distance which saw him land on the Podium and collect some Cash. Jordan Gover 1st (50-54) continued his winning form from Noosa Tri. Keith Campbell 2nd (35-39) recorded an 11min PB on this course. The consistency and hard work paid off for Keith after a long run of interrupted events that were cancelled / postponed due to Covid.
In the Sprint Distance, Tania Gover 2nd (45-49), Sophie Burger 3rd (16-19) continues her consistent form while Saul Nicol Rann 3rd (14-15) raced this distanced for the first time and enjoyed the longer distance. Rebecca Howell 5th (25-29) while Ruby Blue Weepers 7th (16-19) gains valuable experience at racing in her 2nd Sprint distance. SCTA Club Member Paul Marchant 1st (25-29) had another great performance. In the Enticer Milan Power 6th (U/14) continues to improve with more racing
HB 100 saw a small contingent head North foe the annual event that saw Emma Doyle 1st (25-29) have a great race while Katie Kenny 2nd (45-49) continues her comeback to racing. In the OPEN Female Emily Donker 4th was up against a strong female field.
In the 2km Barge to Beach Swim Duanne Cannell 1st (50-59) was 2nd overall with Kim Alexander 7th (50-59). Cozumel Ironman saw SCTA Club Member Carrie Lester 3rd (Professional). Blair Day lined up in the iconic Coolongatta Gold that saw him 11th Elite. Margo Mackintosh took the title in 35-39 and the Overall Female Race Win to take out the South Australia Trial Running Champs
