Some great results from the Sunshine Coast Triathlon Academy / Protector Aluminium Athletes that have been in action over the past 3 weeks at QTS # 1 Robina Triathlon, Berlin Marathon, Sydney Half Marathon, Glasshouse Trail Run, ITU Osaka Asian Sprint Cup, ITU Weihai World Cup and Ventouxman.

We kicked off the first round of the QTS at Robina in perfect conditions for racing. An optional wetsuit swim, light winds on the bike and run which heated up over the morning. SCTA had 21 athletes competing that saw 15 podium results. But the most pleasing was as a Coach was one of the SCTA athletes collapsed on the run leg and quite a few stopped their own races to help her out. Once she was sorted and look after they resumed their races and still managed to podium. Great sportsmanship amongst the SCTA Crew. Very Proud Coach.

In the Olympic Distance, Lucy Bowden lead the charge in the Open Female category that saw her take out 2nd Place and some pocket money. Landing on the top of the Podium in the Age Group Categories were Paul Marchant (25-29 Male) and Alana Park (25-29 Female). Matt Billinghton (25-29 Male) and Michael Woodcock (45-49 Male) both with 2nd, while 3rd places went  to Rebecca Howell (25-29 Female) in her first ever OD race, Tania Gover (40-44 Female) and Tara Partridge (45-49) with a massive PB. Kevin Hammond (40-44 Male) Just missed the podium in 4th but had a huge PB as well.

In the Sprint Distance of 750/24/5 we saw 2nd places to Peyton Craig (14-15 Male), SCTA / PA Junior scholarship Holder Ella Wooldridge (16-19 Female), and Pauline Ashley (45-49 Female). While in 3rd place went to Jazi Coventry (16-19 Female) and Kelly Enright (35-39 Female).

In the Enticer we had Chloe Turner take the win (25-29 Female) while "Ratbag" Mia Wooldridge was 2nd (U/14 Female). Rounding out the podiums was Jayden James from SCTA sister Club Kavieng in PNG in the Kool Kids Mini Mates.

Over in Berlin, The Binet Family, Gary, Lisa, Cameron, Ben and Jenna all lined up the famous Berlin Marathon. Its been a long prep for most of them and at times a few niggles. But they all got to the finish line in the end with Gary taking bragging rights with the fastest time of 2:47:41

Jake Hynes embarked on his first ITU Asian Sprint Cup at Osaka Castle. With 70 Men on the start line the swim start was very important. He got belted at the first can which put him back and in ITU style racing its a matter of seconds between making packs and riding out the back. Unfortunately Jake was out the back and was with a pack of riders that didn't work well together losing valuable time. He went on to finish 52nd

SCTA Club Members where in action in a few races with Carrie Lester lining up at Ventouxman as the defending champion she stomped her authority again to take out the Win and onto her final prep for World Ironman Champs in Kona, while Brittany Dutton lined up in the ITU Weihai World Cup in China over the OD. Brittany had a good race to take out 23rd.

Well done to all that raced. Full results below
