Another big weekend of racing for Sunshine Coast Triathlon Academy / Protector Aluminium Athletes in action at Round 3 of National Junior Series, Hell of the West - doubling as Australian and Queensland Long Course Championships and QTS # 6 Caloundra Triathlon

The Hell of the West Triathlon lived up to expectations with a top temp of 42 degrees on race day with a minimum of 28 degrees. It was doubling up as the Australian and Queensland Long Course Championships. Zsolt Dallos continued to show his versatility with another 2nd (35-39) at an Australian Champs to go with his Sprint distance medal a few weeks earlier.

In Adelaide for Round # 3 of the National Junior Series, Ryan Marsh continued his podium finished with a 3rd (ITU Youth B) were he had a blistering run to finish only seconds behind the winner. Romy Wolstencroft once again found herself chasing down the girls with a blistering run that saw her come off the bike in 20th position to eventually run herself into 12th place (ITU Junior).

Both backed up the next day with Ryan in the ITU Youth A + B combined teams relay were he finished 9th (2 male + 1 Female). Romy opted not to do the relays but in the Glenelg Sprint Triathlon where she took out the Open Female Race win and some extra prize money. Scott Marsh lined up in the Enticer race to take 2nd place 13-16 Years

At Caloundra for QTS # 6 where conditions were very humid and warm with a light breeze. Made for fast racing on the bike but the look on most of the athletes crossing the line showed the run was hot and took its toll.

Leading the charge with Category wins were Maureen Cummings (55-59) Melissa Charlton (35-39) Team Shults - Jen Swim + Bike and Kaya Run (Female Teams) with Jazzy Shults taking the female title in the Enticer (U/14). Also on the podium with 2nd places went to Rachel James (30-34), Tania Gover (40-44), Jordan Gover (45-49) and Emma Dann (14-15). We had quite a few 4th and 5th places just missing the podium.
