Another successful weekend for Sunshine Coast Triathlon Academy / Protector Aluminium Athletes in action at Western Sydney 70.3, Kingscliff Triathlon and National schools Athletics Championships.

Firstly at Kingscliff where we saw father and daughter with Matt and Romy Wolstencroft competing in the Open category. This was to be Romy's first ever Olympic Distance race and the bet was to combine the swim and run times to see who would take the Wolstencroft title. Matty held Romy off by 38 sec. Malin Olsson was just behind Romy in the end to finish 5th Open.

While in the Sprint distance, Jordan Gover continued his winning way (1st 45-49) and in the process was 3rd Male across the line. Mitch Baker also continued his podium finishes with 1st (25-29).

In the Tempta distance SCTA / Protector Aluminium Junior Scholarship recipient, Ryan Marsh, took out the Race title and 13 Years Title. The hard work being laid in the pool is paying off which saw him exit not far off the lead, but a blistering bike leg saw him lead off the bike and was never trouble from there taking out the race win from 127 competitors of all ages. Joshua Nixon had another solid race with a 7th place (13 Years)

Rounding out the Kids race was Matthew Nixon (8th) and Scott Marsh (14th) both in the 10-12 Years. Well done boys and all that raced at Kingscliff.

Down at Penrith for the Western Sydney 70.3, saw Kirra Seidel and Katy Duffield lining up in the Professional Female category. With defending champion Annabel Luxford leading the charge it was always going to be a tough day in the office. Both girls had solid swim and bikes but it was in the run that saw Kirra Seidel move to 2nd place and Katy Duffield in 5th. While Jaryd Hamilton (6th 25-29) had a strong bike that moved him thru the field.

Just around the corner in Sydney, Peyton Craig was lining up in the National Schools Athletics at Homebush stadium where he ran extremely well in tough competition to finish 2nd place 11 years Male 800m in a new PB of 2:17. Well down Bushie.
