A busy weekend of racing for the Sunshine Coast Triathlon Academy / Protector Aluminium Athletes and Club Members in action at QTS # 2 Raby Bay Triathlon, Sunshine Coast Marathon Festival and City Island Triathlon
A very warm and humid morning greeted the athletes for QTS # 2 at Raby Bay. Leading the charge in the Long Course was Jordan Gover 1st (50-54) and right on his heels was Kim Alexander 2nd (50-54). Just off the podium with 5th Places was Emily Donker (OPEN) and Rebecca Howell (25-29). Sophie Burger 9th (OPEN Female had a strong race. SCTA Club Member and 2016 Rio Olympian Ryan Fisher showed great form ahead of Noosa Tri taking out the race win.
In the Short Course Rachel James continued her progression back to fitness with a 3rd (35-39) while just missing the podium with 4th Places was Millan Power (13 Years) and Ben Cook (35-39). You couldn't wipe the smile off Jayden James face with a category win (U/16 Enticer).
On home turf for the rescheduled Sunshine Coast Marathon Festival also held in very warm conditions we saw SCTA Athletes / Club Members in all distances. In the Half Marathon we saw some strong running from Ruby Rose Weepers (U/18) and Saul Nicol-Rann (U/16) both take out category wins. SCTA Club Member Paul Marchant 5th (20-29) ran strongly in a hotly contested field.
In the 10km SCTA Club Members Ryan Marsh 2nd (U/20) and Simon Hearn 6th (20-29). 5km saw some great results with Eva Nicol-Rann 1st (U/14) while SCTA Club Members Grace Brimelow 2nd (U/16) and Jude Brimelow 5th (U/14). While Chloe Turner 1st (16+) 2km
Over in America for the City Island Triathlon Nikki Smythe 2nd (45-49) and 9th Female Overall
