A very busy start tot he New Year for the Sunshine Coast Triathlon Academy / Studio Steel Athletes and Club Members in action in Queensland and Interstate.

Starting the Year off with the Queensland Standard Distance Championships as part of of Round # 5 of the QTS saw Emily Donker lead off with her 4th straight Win in the Open Female. Maegan Morrison (25-29) crowned QLD Champ while Matt Phillips (30-34) a Bronze Medal in the Queensland Championships. Prabakar Kuppusamy 6th (45-49) and Josh Christie 9th (40-44)

SCTA Club Member Ryan Marsh (16-19) took the win. The Juniors in the Enticer continue show improvement from the more racing they do and today was no exception with Jude and Grace Brimelow, Jacob and Sophie Rope, Wade Wallis and the Kuppusamy Family.

The Dynamic Duo of Jordan and Tania Gover headed to St Kilda for the Australian Sprint Championships where both performed very well with Jordan 3rd (50-54) and Tania 7th (44-49)

Small contingent of SCTA Juniors headed to Canberra for the Australian Super Sprint Championships with 5 races in 4 days at the Stromlo Leisure Centre, Crit Track and DeCastella Run Track. it was hot with fast and furious racing over the days. Started off with a Road trip south with the Power, Houslip Family, Sophie Burger and the Coach. It was a very successful trip that saw Sophie, Milan and Addie perform really well. executing instructions from day to day and with a McDonalds McFlurry or Sundae as race rewards if they hit certain targets.

Addie had a great series of races and was pushed all the way in the 5 races, but in the final her dominant run prowess shone thru to take out the Final and a perfect point score winning every race and being crowned the Australian Youth Super Sprint Champion.

Milan was very consistent across all 5 races. not all went to plan with losing his run shoe at the start of the Le Mans Crit. But his fight to get himself back into contention showed his true character to fight. He backed himself in the 2nd race that saw his competitors come in 1 lap early and he stayed out. Attention to detail and backing himself. Milan took a lot out of this weekend of racing that saw him implement changes in each race.

Sophie, another big learning experience for her that saw her have some good races and some that didn't go to plan. The fight and execution was there its just backing herself to perform. it will come and especially when the race goes longer. look forward to the next sprint distance race.

Well done to all that raced. Full results below
