Another weekend of action for Sunshine Coast Triathlon Academy / Hybrid Concepts Australia athletes competing at New Zealand Ironman, Tweed Coast Enduro and the Mooloolaba Mile Swim.

Down at Tweed Heads we had Malin Olsson competing over the 70.3 distance which she has qualified for World 70.3 Champs to be held at Mooloolaba later this year. Malin had  a great race with a swim that is slowing getting faster, road strongly and finally paced out a very strong half marathon to take out her category win and 2nd female overall.

Across the ditch in New Zealand we saw Peter (Pilot Pete) Schultz and Shane Costa on the start line. Both probably hadn't down all the training they wanted and Shane headed into the race with the flu. It wasn't an easy day for either of them but with one foot in front of the other they got to the finish line with Shane (11:57:53) and Peter (12:50:34) well done boys.

At home on Mooloolaba Beach there was the Mile swim as a prelude to all the action this weekend at the Mooloolaba Triathlon Festival. Bringing home the bacon was Stuart Louth (35-39) and Swede Amanda Bohlin (25-29) with category wins. Just missing the winners dais with 2nd places was Chris George (30-34) and Bob Haller (20-24). Rachel James 4th (30-34) and Kevin Hammond 5th (35-39) just missed the podium.
