Another successful weekend of racing from the Sunshine Coast Triathlon Academy / Protector Aluminium Athletes that were in action at Race # 4 of the Queensland Triathlon Series and Taupo 70.3. With 22 Athletes competing, they recorded 16 podium finishes with 9 x 1st Places, 5 x 2nd places and 2 x 3rd places.

At Raby Bay for Round # 4 of the QTS saw some tough conditions with the swirling wind and warm temperatures. Some exciting racing out there on the course. In the Long Course (900/25/6) we recorded 4 x 1st Places with Lucy Bowden (25-29), Timmy Hortz (30-34), Tania Gover (40-44) and Pauline Ashley (45-49). Brett Stalley recorded his 3rd podium from his 3rd race with a 2nd (55-59).

In the Super Sprint (400/15/4) Jake Hynes took out the overall win with a great race in the 16-19. Other age group wins went to Rachel James (30-34) and Gary Turner (65-69). Finishing 2nd was Ryan Marsh (14-15) and Kayleigh Foster (14-15). While Kelly Enright 3rd (30-34)

In the Enticer (200/5/2) PNG's Seth James recorded a 2nd (U/16) and gained some valuable race experience. While in the Kool Kids (200/2/500) The ever consistent Finn Barlow 1st and Fastest overall female (10-11). Parker Duetzmann recorded another podium with 2nd (7-9). It was great to see the hard working Pipi Barlow landed a 3rd (7-9)

At Taupo 70.3 in New Zealand, an algae problem resulted in another race being converted to a duathlon. Marion Tuin, had a great race coming back from the flu with a win in her category.
