SCTA 20th Anniversary Honour Board
On 25th June 2022, The Sunshine Coast Triathlon Academy celebrated its 20th anniversary of coaching. On hand were 120 past and present athletes and sponsors. It was a great night with SCTA Head Coach good mate and fellow commentator Noel Philips as MC. On the night we awarded Senior and Junior athlete of the decade, Life Members and End of Season Awards. 20th Anniversary Senior Athlete of the Decade - Jordan Gover
Jordan Gover joined SCTA in 2014 and his first statement to me was I want to get on the SCTA Honour Board. In that time he has planted his name well and truly in there several times with Australian and Queensland titles to his name. A strong Athlete with a swimming background. Jordan has been involved in Triathlon from the early 90's. I know Jordan is very humbled to be crowned the 20th Anniversary Senior Athlete of the Decade.

20th Anniversary Junior Athlete of the Decade - Romy Wolstencroft / Savannah Wayner
Savannah Wayner started casually training with SCTA in 2010 under a full time move under the SCTA banner in 2012. A very strong runner always saw her running herself into podium contention. Savannah was awarded SCTA Junior Scholarship holder for 2015/16 Season after her great performance at the World Duathlon Champs in 2014
Savannah's results include Selected for the Australian Team for World Junior Duathlon - 4th Place ITU World Duathlon Championships Adelaide 2015 - 6th Place ITU World Age Group Championships 2014 - 4th Place ITU Junior Duathlon Oceania Champs 2014 - 6th Place Elite Female Duathlon Oceania Champs 2014 - 1 appearance's at National Schools Triathlon Championships Romy Wolstencroft move from Open Water swimming to Triathlon when she joined SCTA back in 2015. Romy was a fierce competitor that set her races up with a blistering run that saw her competitors always looking over their shoulders. In 20 Romy was awarded the SCTA Junior scholarship for season 2017/18 that saw her go on to be selected in the Australian Junior Triathlon Team for 2018
Romy's results include Selected for the Australian Team for World Junior Triathlon - 5th Place ITU World Triathlon Championships Gold Coast 2018 - 3rd Place ITU Junior Oceania Championships 2018 - 2 appearance's at National Schools Triathlon Championships - 1 x Silver Medalist National Schools Triathlon Champs - 2 x Gold, 1 x Silver, 2 x Bronze Medalist Queensland School Triathlon Championships |
