A massive weekend of racing for Sunshine Coast Triathlon Academy / Protector Aluminium Athletes over the weekend with National Schools Cross Country Champs in Canberra, Sunshine Coast Marathon Run Festival and Tri Fraser Coast

Perfect Race conditions greeted all the Athletes competing in the Tri Fraser Coast and Sunshine Coast Marathon Run Festival with cool temperatures and a slight wind.

Firstly at the Sunshine Coast Marathon Run Festival we had quite a few racing over the Marathon, Half Marathon, 10km and 5km run events.

The SCTA Juniors led the charge dominating the 5km event with Jake Hynes taking out the category and overall race title, Meg Roberts (1st 15-17) and 3rd Female Overall, SCTA Junior Scholarship recipient Ryan Marsh (2nd 11-14 Years) and Macey Roberts (3rd 11-14 Years) and 4th Female Overall.

In the 10km we saw Malin Olsson (1st 40-44) and 5th female overall and junior Jazzy Shults (2nd 12-14).

While up in Hervey Bay, we saw Kirra Seidel take out the Female Race win at Tri Fraser Coast and 5th overall against the guys.

Down in Canberra we had Romy Wolstencroft and Peyton Craig at the National Schools Cross Country Champs on the Rob De Castella Track at Mt Stromlo. In very cold conditions both Romy and Peyton gave it them all against the best runners in Australia. Peyton (8th Place) had a cracker of a race only 30 seconds off the winner, while Romy (41st Place) gave it her all against pure runners that were very strong. Well done to you both.

Race wins by Sunshine Coast Triathlon Academy Athletes in Yeppoon Triathlon Festival and at the Brightwater bash on the Sunshine Coast.

Great to see Kirra Seidel on top of the podium in Yeppoon over the standard distance triathlon on Sunday where she was 8th overall. In tough conditions with a choppy swim and wind on the bike and run course Kirra ran strongly to take out the Female Title. Building very well in her coming races.

While back on the Sunny Coast, Husband and Wife team of Kate and Tim Jarrold  (Aka scrambled Legs Team) took out the adventure race consisting of paddling, running, cycling, shooting hoops, rock climbing and navigation being the first team overall across the line.

Yeppoon Triathlon Festival - 07.08.16 - 1.5/40/10

Sunshine Coast Triathlon Academy Athletes were in action at the Queensland Duathlon Champs at Springfield while we had Zsolt Dallos compete at the Budapest 70.3.

Firstly in Budapest where the temperature was nudging mid 30's, Zsolt Dallos was lining up in his first ever 70.3 at his former home country. After coming from a kayaking background and taking out the Clydesdale division in season 2014/15, the season 2015/16 was about competing in his age group (35-39) to see how he would go and in most races he found the podium. Lining up in Budapest he was up against 300 in his category. Zsolt had a strong and consistent race to take out 14th place in his category. A great effort mate. Now enjoy the time visiting the family and enjoy the holiday.

At Queensland Duathlon Champs at Springfield saw extremely low temps of around 6 degrees which slowly climbed as the after the sun started to rise. Perfect conditions for racing with no to light winds saw some fast a furious racing out on the course. Team Shults (Kaya and Scott) took out the teams title quite convincingly, while Meg Roberts showed great form to take out the bronze medal at state champs in 16-17 Years Female.

Just missing the podium in 4th place was Jake Hynes (16-17) and Ryan Marsh (13-14) while Jazzy Shults 5th (10-11). Macey Roberts moved up an age category (14-15) and distance and raced well against  strong field for 7th, while Scott Marsh (10-11) showed some great skills on the bike to move thru to 10th place.

Well done to all that raced. Results below.
