A busy few weeks for the Sunshine Coast Triathlon Academy / Protector Aluminium Athletes and Club Members in Action over the weekend at Moreton Bay Triathlon and Multisport Festival, Brisbane Run Festival and Hawaii 70.3 and the past month at Noosa Runaway and Swim and previously at Australian Kayak Champs, Honolulu Triathlon,  Qld All Schools Cross Country Champs and Byron Bay Triathlon.

At Moreton Bay saw very chilly conditions on both Sunday for the Triathlon and Saturday for the Run. On the Sunday we had a very successful day out with performances from the Squad. As with any race there is always learning experiences to come away with and the end of the season for racing for a lot of the athletes, they wanted to go out on a winning note. That they did.

In the Classic Brett Stalley 1st (55-59) had a strong race despite pulling a crown out of his mouth while taking in some nutrition. spent some time on the side of the road finding and then went on to dominate his category and Josh Christie 7th (35-39) had a strong day out. Margo Mackintosh teamed up with Steve Miller to take out the Mixed Teams.

Club Distance with 4 athletes saw 4 podiums with Sophie Burger sealing the Overall Female title over this distance for the 2nd successive year and 1st (16-19), while Emma McInnes 2nd (16-19) finished of her season strongly. Edward Hayes-Wood 2nd (25-29) performed strongly and improves with each performance, while Kyle Wallis 3rd (16-19) rounded out a great season with a podium in his first attempt at this longer distance.

In the Enticer strong racing from the crew netted a few podiums with Tania Gover 1st (45+), Addison Houslip 2nd (U/14) and Jemma Britton 2nd (20-24) ran strongly to give her some confidence as she will now build for Noosa Triathlon, Millan Power 3rd (U/14) and Wade Wallis 5th (U/14) saw both boys finish off a great season of racing.

In the Kids race bragging rights goes to Marcello Power 1st (10-11) with a lead from start to finish to take his first podium and win in his category, while Billie Elsum 3rd (10-11) performed well while not 100%.

On Saturday in the run we saw Chloe Turner line up to take the Overall Female win in the 5km and her category (30-39)

Over in Hawaii we saw Greg Bush Line up in the 70.3, where slots for the Hawaiian IM were on offer. It was an adventure for Greg with his bike and bags arriving on race eve not allowing much time to get things sorted that saw a broken front derailleur. When exiting the swim on race day he stubbed his toes and broke two of them. He had a strong, but painful, day out that saw him secure the Win 70-74 and his spot for Hawaiian IM. well done Greg

Brisbane Run Festival saw Keith Campbell 7th (35-39) line up for Team Mizuno in the Half Marathon that saw Keith run a PB on a very tough and hilly course in a time of 1:22:08

Last weekend at Noosa for the Runaway Noosa Marathon and Swim, saw the blue skies open up for a magic weekend of racing. In the Half Marathon Elke Madlener 1st (16-17) with strong runs to Courtney Akrigg 21st (35-39) and Alex Forrest 81st (30-34). Next day for the Swim saw a variety of distances. In the 3.8km Brodie Gardner 1st (Wetsuit Male) builds towards Carins IM, Jake Hammond 1st (14-15) and Andrew Schmidt 9th (30-39). In the 2km Zak Hammond 4th (11-12), Prabakar Kuppusamy 6th (Wetsuit Male) and Duanne Cannell 10th (Open Male). While in the 500 Dash  both Jake Hammond 1st (14-15) and Zak Hammond 1st (11-12) backed up for a 2nd swim, while the McHugh brothers had great swims with Flynn 2nd (9-10) and  Will 4th (9-10)

South Australia was the Venue for the Australian Kayaking Championships that saw Elke Madlener come away with an Australian Bronze medal in the U/16 K4 500 and 6th K2 500.

On a tough Toogoolawah Cross Country Course for the Queensland All Schools Championships saw Addison Houslip claim a bronze medal (13 Years).

The Annual Byron Bay Triathlon saw Greg Bush (65-69) and Kim Alexander (50-54) take their respective Age Group Wins in the Sprint Distance.

Well done to all that raced. Full results below
