Another massive weekend and awesome results from the Sunshine Coast Triathlon Academy / Protector Aluminium Athletes that were in action at the Luke Harrop Memorial Gold Coast Triathlon with both the Australian Sprint and Aquathlon Championships, Xterra Rotorua and Cliff to Club Swim.

On Sunday, Perfect Conditions greeted the athletes at The Luke Harrop Memorial Gold Coast Triathlon doubling as the Triathlon Australia Australian Sprint Champs. The Ladies dominated proceedings with 3 in the top 4 Overall with Lucy Bowden Fastest Female, Jazi Coventry 3rd Female Overall and Ella Wooldridge 4th Female Overall.  National champions included Lucy Bowden (25-29),  Jazi Coventry (16-19), SCTA / PA Junior Scholarship Holder Peyton Craig (U/14 Enticer Race Winner) Picking up Silver medals to Ella Wooldridge (16-19) , Mia Wooldridge (U/14 Enticer), Brett Stalley (55-59) and Bronze medal to Paul Marchant (25-29) and Gary Turner (70-74). Ron Craig (Clydesdale 90-99Kg) was 3rd but not a championships category.

Erin Wooldridge (14-15) was unlucky again to just miss the podium with 4th. SCTA / PA Junior Scholarship Holder Macey Roberts (16-19) had a very strong race to take 6th place.

Jake Hynes missed a start in the OTU draft legal but turned that into a positive to take out the OPEN Male title. SCTA Club Members Kelly-Ann Perkins Elite Female Champ taking out the OTU Oceania Sprint Cup and Romy Wolstencroft Bronze Medal Elite Female finishing 5th Overall.

On Saturday SCTA Athletes lined up in the Triathlon Australia National Aquathlon Championships with newly crowned Australian Champions to Jazi Coventry (16-19) and SCTA / PA Junior Scholarship Holder Peyton Craig (U/14 Enticer). Silver Medals to Lucy Bowden (25-29), Ella Wooldridge (16-19),  Mia Wooldridge (U/14 Enticer) and Rebecca Howell (20-24) with a bronze. Both Erin Wooldridge (14-15) and Heidi Craig (10-11) both in 4th places just missing the podium.

Great job from the SCTA crew with tally from the weekend with 6 x Australian Champions, 5 x Silver Medals and 5 x Bronze Medals. From a coaching perspective I couldn't have asked for better performances than what we saw over the weekend. The hard work and consistency over the past months have paid off. and we have seen the results from the weekend. A few more races to go till end of the season. Keep up the great work and well done to each of you all.

At the Cliff to Club Swim, Janelle McCosker lined up in the 2.5km Swim where she had a great race to come away with 2nd 50-59 Years Female.

Across the ditch in NZ, Brodie Gardner was lining up for his 2nd race within a week at Xterra Rotorua . The travel took its toll from Taiwan last week back to Australia and then out to NZ. He didn't have the best of races but battle his way to finish in the Top 10 in 10th Spot in the Elite Men.

Monday saw fast and furious short course Mixed Team Relays on the Gold Coast post Luke Harrop Memorial. 16 teams lined up in 2 heats of 8, with 8 teams in the "A" Final and 8 teams in the "B" Final for their second race. Distance of 300m Swim, 7km Cycle and 1500m Run. Chloe Turner was in Team Australia Blue while Jazi Coventry was in Team X-Border. Chloe's team made the "A" Final where they finished 8th. While Jazi's Team won the "B" Final

On Friday Night The Event Crew launched the Luke Harrop Foundation. SCTA Coach Toby Coote and Junior scholarship Holders Macey Roberts and Peyton Craig were in attendance supporting the initiative from The Event Crew. While on Sunday Night at the Triathlon Australia Awards Night Mia Wooldridge was awarded Youth B Female Series Champion while Peyton Craig was awarded Silver Youth B Male Series
