Race Updates

Sunshine Coast Triathlon Academy / Protector Aluminium Athletes were in action over the weekend at QTS # 1 at Raby Bay, World Long Course in Oklahoma, Guyre 70.3 and SCTA Juniors named in the Triathlon Queensland Development Squad.

Firstly in Raby Bay for round # 1 of the Queensland Triathlon Series over the sprint distance where we saw the Juniors take charge in the Opens with both Jake Hynes and Romy Wolstencroft just missing the podium with both 4th places. Tania Gover took out the category win (40-44) while Kayleigh Foster won (U/14 Enticer).

Ryan Marsh continued his strong performances from last season with a 6th (U/14 Enticer), with Tahlea Corcoran with an 8th place (U/16 Enticer). In the Kool Kids we saw Jake Hammond 7th (7-9) with a Jemma Hynes stepping up age group to finish 8th (10-12) Scott Marsh showed great improvement to finish 10th (10-12).

Kirra Seidel lined up at Guyre 70.3 in Korea. With a strong swim Kirra lead out of water to hold off the fellow competitors to lead from start to finish. In the process of taking out the win it was Kirra's first 70.3 Race win.

While over in Oklahoma USA, Teresa Soden lined up in the ITU World Long Course Championships . A very tough day out with the wind up making the 4km swim very choppy, windy conditions mixed with heat made the bike and run a war of attrition. Teresa got thru with a 13th Place.
