Another successful weekend of results for the Sunshine Coast Triathlon Academy / Protector Aluminium Athletes that raced at Queensland Athletics Champs in Cairns, Bribie Island Triathlon Series Race # 1, Challenge Mallorca Half Distance, Challenge China Full Distance and Tongyeong ITU World Cup.

State Athletics Champs where held in Cairns from Saturday to Tuesday. Peyton Craig was convincing in his wins in both the 3000m and 1500m qualifying for the National Champs 14 Years Male to be held in Perth. Also securing her spot for Nationals was Mackenzie Ofield who took out the 15 Years Female 3000m Walk. Jazi Coventry finished 4th 17 Years Female 800m and 1500

A small contingent went to Bribie Island to compete. In the Sprint Distance Jake Hynes exited the water in front fine tuning for Noosa Tri in 2 weeks. He lost some time on the bike and finished off strongly on the run for 3rd OPEN Male. Jessica Lee (35-39) and Jade Ingram (Athena) both landed on the podium with a 3rd place each. While in the Short Course, the ever consistent Marilyn Shrapnel took line honours in the 70-74 Female

while at Burleigh Heads on the weekend, Janelle McCosker lined up in their 2km Open water swim event where she just missed the podium in 4th 50-59. She is looking forward to moving up an age group next year.

At Challenge Mallorca over the half distance saw Marion Tuin back racing in the Professional Female. A rough swim as met when the gun went. Once out of the water Marion had  a solid day on the bike and run to finish 12th

SCTA Club Members in action saw Kierra Sansome take 4th Place Professional Female at Challenge China, while in Tongyeong for the ITU World Cup saw Ryan Fisher 16th and first Aussie while Kelly Ann Perkins was 24th and 2nd Aussie. Both are lining up in Miyazaki World Cup this weekend.
