Sunshine Coast Triathlon Academy / Hybrid Concepts Australia Athletes have been performing well over the past 2 weeks at Straddie Salute, PNG National Triathlon Champs and at Triathlon Queensland Series Awards for 2015-16 Season

Brodie Gardner has kept his streak of Race wins for this season taking out the Straddie Salute title last weekend. In a strong showing Brodie broke away on the bike and was never headed on the run winning by nearly 4 minutes. It caps of a stellar season which saw him officially named in the Australia Elite team for the ITU World Cross Triathlon Champs that will be held at Lake Crackenback in October. Well done Brodie an awesome season and a well deserve break.

At the Triathlon Queensland Awards Afternoon it was great to see 3 SCTA members rewarded for their great results throughout the year with Finn Barlow and Jake Hynes taking out their respective category wins. It was great to see Sue Fairweather Brown rewarded for her tireless work as a Technical Official in taking out the Technical Official of the Year. Sue is and always is a bright shining light at races for all SCTA athletes and is always there to help no matter how small the problem is. Very well deserved Sue.

In Port Moresby, PNG Triathlon Federation had their National Champs, where we saw Rachel James have a very strong showing entering T2 in the lead with the males. After a short stint in Vanuatu for work, where she has had limited opportunities to train, Rachel performed remarkably well considering this finishing 4th overall and taking out the National Title. Well done Rachel.
