Race Updates

Great racing from the Sunshine Coast Triathlon Academy / Protector Aluminium Athletes and Club Members in action at Race # 1 of the Queensland Triathlon Series incorporating the Triathlon Queensland Club Championships. 

In the Standard Distance of 1.5/40/10 saw a low tide where there was a bit of a wade to start proceedings in the swim. Emily Donker had a strong day out with the fastest run split that saw her take out 3rd OPEN Female. Lauren Murphy 4th (40-44) had a solid day out. SCTA Club Member Simon Hearn 3rd OPEN Male chased hard after the young "ITU" Athletes.

In the Sprint Distance over 750/20/5 there was ding dong battle in the 50-54 Years Male that saw Kim Alexander take the win over Jordan Gover 2nd. Sophie Burger 2nd (16-19) had a great start with a strong swim  and bike. The run is improving all the time and with 6th Female Overall. Steve Miller 5th (60-64) performed strongly once again. Other top 10 finishes went to Callum Close 7th (16-19), Rebecca Howell 7th (25-29), Ethan Close 8th (16-19) and Rachel James 9th (35-39). Kyle Wallis 23rd (16-19) learnt some valuable lessons in only his 4th Triathlon. SCTA Club Member Ryan Marsh 4th (16-19)

Enticer racing was very strong and you see the growth of some of the athletes from season to season and the first race was no exception. Millan Power 6th (U/14) raced well as did Wade Wallis 25th (U/14) Both these boys have only competed in a handful of Triathlons and I look forward to seeing the progression this season. SCTA Club Members raced well with Grace Brimelow 10th (U/16) , Mia Davis 21st (U/14) and Jude Brimelow 21st (U/14)

In the Phoenix KIds Billie Elsum 21st (10-11) had a strong race while SCTA Club Member Carter Davis 15th (10-11)

While in South Australia for the Yerrebilla 28km Ultra Run, Margo Mackintosh 1st (40-49) and Female Race Winner had a great run over the 28km Run where she finished 6th Overall amongst the Men. Nice Work Margo!
