Race Updates

Another very successful weekend of racing by Sunshine Coast Triathlon Academy / Hybrid Concept Australia Athletes at the Triathlon Queensland Sprint Champs on Sunday and Talent Id Draft Legal double Race on the Saturday afternoon.

On the Saturday ITU Youth and 15+ athletes competed in 2 races held over a 300m swim / 6km Cycle (Draft Legal) / 1.5km Run with a 30 min rest between each race. There were a few mistakes made in the first race and with Coach Toby Coote on hand to evaluate each athlete after each race we saw all athletes execute race 2 with the changes that were asked of them. Couldn't ask for more from the SCTA Juniors

Onto Sunday's Race over the sprint distance format of 750m Swim / 20km Cycle / 5km Run and also the Triathlon Queensland State Championship on the line. With 4 SCTA Junior athletes backing up from Saturday it was always going to be quite competitive.

SCTA / HCAUS Junior Scholarship Recipient, Jake Hynes led the charge with another state title in 16-17 years Male and 7th overall. Finn Barlow dominated the U/10 years Female with the state title and finishing 3rd overall in the Mini Kids. Taj Jones took out silver 14-15 years Male (20th Overall) with Macey Roberts with another 2nd at the State championships in 12-13 years Female.
