Savannah Wayner

It was great news to be heard for Savannah Wayner and the Sunshine Coast Tri Academy program, as this has been the one thing I have strived to achieve as a Coach since SCTA's inception back in 2002. Back in 1995 I was fortunate to be named in the Australia ITU Junior Team for the Mexico World Championships. At this time I was the first junior to have been selected. Since then only one other athlete, David Dellow, had been selected in 1999.

Savannah Wayner will be the first ITU Junior named in a Duathlon team and will be the first female junior selected in either a Duathlon or Triathlon team. It has been a huge year for Savannah with finishing grade 12 and starting at Sunshine Coast Uni doing a nutrition course which will help her prepare better as an athlete. Savannah set herself up with a 4th place ITU Junior (3rd Aussie) and 6th ITU Elite at the Oceania Champs on the actual World Champs course last October. Another notable performance saw Savannah finish 4th 17/18 Years at the Australia Youth Champs.
